Condé Nast has announced a significant editorial overhaul and has streamlined its structure under a group of global editors:
- Anna Wintour has added two new titles -- global chief content officer and global editorial director of Vogue. She will oversee publications in more than 30 markets globally. Wintour has been the editor in chief of Vogue US since 1988, the artistic director of Vogue’s parent, Condé Nast, since 2013, and the company’s global content adviser since 2019.
- Amy Astley is now global editorial director of AD, formerly titled Architectural Digest. She has served as the magazine's editor in chief for several years and previously worked at Vogue as beauty director, and at Teen Vogue, which she founded and served as its top editor for 13 years.
- Will Welch has been named global editorial director of GQ. He was most recently the top editor at GQ and GQ Style, a position he has held since January 2019. Welch joined GQ in 2007 as associate editor and went on to become editor in chief of GQ Style in 2015 and creative director of GQ in 2018.
- Divia Thani is now global editorial director of Conde Nast Traveler. She had been the editor in chief of Conde Nast Traveler India since 2010 and before that worked as featured editor at Vogue India and lifestyle editor at Time Out Mumbai.
Lena Felton has been promoted to deputy editor of The Lily, Washington Post's online magazine for millennial women. She was most recently the multiplatform editor at the title and has been on staff since 2018. Prior to that, Felton was a politics fellow at The Atlantic.
Bloomberg News has promoted Stacie Sherman to deputy managing editor of U.S. bureaus. She is a veteran journalist at Bloomberg and has been on staff for 23 years. Most recently, Sherman served as the New Jersey bureau chief and managed the Trenton and Princeton newsdesks for three years. During her Bloomberg tenure she has also worked as Top page editor, business news editor, and Trenton bureau chief.
Eric Bates will join INSIDER in January as an editor focusing on analysis and stories that answer big topical questions. He comes from Vanity Fair where he served as the executive editor for two years. Bates is also the longtime executive editor of Rolling Stone and the former editor in chief of The New Republic.
Protocol has hired Tomio Geron as senior reporter covering financial technology. He was previously a writer at The Wall Street Journal and has written about technology, venture capital and startups for WSJ Pro Venture Capital and from The Journal’s San Francisco bureau. Before that served as director of content at Exitsound.
Hayley C. Cuccinello will join Business Insider Dec. 21 as a senior wealth reporter. She was most recently a wealth reporter at Forbes for almost two years and had joined the staff as a contributor in September 2015. Prior to that, Cuccinello was an intern at Rolling Stone.
WLEX-TV, the NBC station in Lexington, Kentucky, has tapped Larry Smith as head anchor. He delivers the news weeknights at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Smith was most recently a freelance sports anchor and host, has previously worked for CNN and HLN, and in local markets in Tennessee, Florida and D.C.
Samuel King has joined ABC's KSAT-TV in San Antonio, Texas, as traffic reporter. He delivers the traffic reports in the morning as part of the "Good Morning San Antonio" team, and covers the transportation beat around the San Antonio region. King comes from NPR's KUT-FM in Austin, Texas, where he was the transportation reporter and before that has worked at TV station in New York, Alabama and Florida.
KYGO-FM (98.5) in Denver, Colorado, has welcomed Brian McFayden as morning co-host alongside Tracy Dixon. Most recently, he was an anchor for KGW-TV in Portland. McFayden spent most of his career in television and served as a correspondent for MTV News, a VJ at MTV’s "Total Request Live," hosted multiple reality shows on the WB, and was an anchor and host for Current TV, HLN and MSN.
