Joyann King will take on the role of executive director of editorial business development for Town & Country and Elle Decor. She is the longtime executive editorial editor of Bazaar’s web site and has been with Hearst since 2010. King has also previously worked at Time, Inc. as a consultant for InStyle and Conde Nast as a contributor to Self.com.
The 74 has welcomed veteran education journalist Linda Jacobson as a Los Angeles-based senior writer. She comes from Education Dive where she spent the past three years as editor, and before that she spent 12 years at Editorial Projects in Education covering state education policy, early-childhood education, and additional education trends and topics.
Business Insider has welcomed an editor and a reporter:
- Connor Perrett is the new junior reporter, news for INSIDER and Business Insider. He was previously an editorial intern for the publications, where he covered politics, digital culture, and breaking news on weekends. Before that contributed to The Inquisitr.
- Alex Davies has returned to Business Insider as a senior editor on the transportation team. He was most recently the transportation editor at WIRED. Before that, Davis was a transportation reporter for Business Insider.
Shepard Smith will return to cable news this time at CNBC, where he’ll anchor a new evening newscast. "The News With Shepard Smith" will launch this fall, and will air weekdays at 7 p.m. Smith will also assume the new roles of CNBC’s chief general news anchor and chief breaking general news anchor, as well as executive editor of "The News With Shepard Smith" He previously spent 23 years at Fox News and left the network in October 2019.
ABC News has promoted has promoted longtime ABC Newser Catherine McKenzie to executive producer of the third hour of Good Morning America, GMA 3: What You Need to Know. She has been with ABC for more than two decades, first at flagship station WABC and, since 2009, at ABC News. McKenzie departed ABC briefly in 2013-14 when she became supervising producer of syndicated The Queen Latifah Show, followed by a senior broadcast producer role at CBS Interactive. She returned to ABC in 2015, joining the launch of ABC News’ digital streaming service.
Chuck Damico has been named program director of Sports WPEN-FM in Philadelphia. He's worked in a variety of positions at the Philadelphia-based radio cluster since 1994, most recently as the PD at WBEN-FM and ADP at WMMR-FM.
