The Washington Post has named James Hohmann a columnist for the Opinions section. He starts in February and will write a regular column on topics including politics and policy. Hohmann has been a national political correspondent for The Post and author of The Daily 202, The Post's flagship political newsletter, since 2015. He is the host of The Daily 202’s affiliated Big Idea audio briefing. Prior to that, he spent six years at Politico and has also written for the Los Angeles Times, Dallas Morning News and San Jose Mercury News.
Andrew Higgins has relocated to Warsaw, Poland, as bureau chief of the Eastern Europe bureau of The New York Times. He was most recently the paper's Moscow bureau chief and had been on staff since 2019. He joined The Times from The Washington Post, where he had served as China bureau chief for two years. Before that he was a foreign corresponded at The Wall Street Journal
Adweek has named Stephanie Paterik editor in chief and executive vice president. She was promoted from executive editor, a position she had held since May 2019. Peterik joined Adweek in 2015 as senior web editor and has since held multiple editorial positions including managing editor and digital editor. Prior to that, she was the founder of media consulting agency SPK Editorial.
Mark Stenberg is a new reporter for Business Insider covering entrepreneurship. He specifically focuses on the creator economy — companies such as Patreon, Substack, OnlyFans, Cameo, and Twitch and the people who use them. Stenberg was most recently a graduate journalism student at Northwest University.
Digiday has tapped Sara Jerde as managing editor. She spent the past year at Adweek as publishing editor and had been on staff since 2018. Prior to that, Jerde was a reporter at NJ Advance Media, a writer at Talking Points Memo, and a writer at Ohio Today.
Chicago Public Media and WBEZ-FM (91.5) have named Sasha-Ann Simons host of "Reset" airing 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. She comes from American University news/talk WAMU-FM in Washington where she has been a national correspondent.
Lisa Washington is the new anchor at WNEP-TV, the ABC station in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She comes from KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, where she was the morning anchor and a reporter since 2015. Prior to that, Washington spent less than a year at KPIX-TV in San Francisco.
Spectrum 1 News North Carolina has hired Sharon Tazewell as evening anchor. She delivers the news on the 5, 5:30, 6 and 11p.m. newscasts. Tazewell previously spent 15 years at WNCN-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina.
