Company culture defines the environment in which employees work, and here at Cision we strive to make it an inclusive, engaging one. 2019 saw the launching of new employee resource groups (ERGs), new initiatives and the challenge of integrating the culture of two new companies- TrendKite and Falcon.io- into our own.
Over the course of the year, we had 150+ DEI (diversity and inclusion) events and launched 26 ERG chapters around the globe with 50+ global and local ERG leaders. If that wasn’t impressive enough, we created over 176 employee highlights and features from those events globally!
We wanted to take a little time to highlight some of our favorite moments from over the past year as we move into 2020.
Embrace- our new multicultural ERG- launched in a big way with chapters in ABQ, Beltsville, Chicago and Cleveland, observing important events and holidays including Black History Month (U.S. & Canada), Holi and the Lunar New Year. Our Pulse (LGBTQ+ ERG) Albuquerque Chapter also hosted their Kickoff.
Empower, our ERG focused on women in leadership, celebrated its 5th anniversary with a new leadership team and launch of new virtual chapter— just in time for International Women’s Day.
PULSE, our LGBTQ+ ERG, announced our new leadership team calling for more global and local chapters and Our Pulse Chicago Chapter also hosted their Kickoff.
PULSE kicked off PRIDE month worldwide with our annual #WeTakePride selfie-campaign and local office events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots: The birth of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
Embrace celebrated its members with employee interviews spotlighting how they contribute to Cision’s success globally.
Our global office culture ambassador program relaunched with over 39 ambassadors representing over 45 offices, plus we saw the Empower Mainz Chapter Kickoff. A new Empower External Speaker Series ‘Coffee Talk’ also launched.
The Empower Beijing (China) & Empower Shenzhen (China) Chapters both hosted their Kickoffs.
October is Global Diversity Awareness Month (read our blog post about it here
) and our “We Embrace Differences Campaign” launched, along with our Cision Global Calendar of Events and
our Pulse NYC Chapter kicked off.
November saw the Kickoff of Virtual DEI Sessions on Transgender Awareness (Nov 4th) and Mental Health Awareness (Nov 14th).
The year ended with our Virtual DEI Session observing International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec 3rd).
Throughout the year we also folded the former TrendKite- now Cision Austin or ATX- chapters of their ERGs into our global ERGs. We're looking forward to another amazing year of growth and celebration in 2020!
