Top 5 TrendKite Blog Posts of 2015

December 30, 2015 Matt Allison: Founder, Chief Strategy Officer

Top 5 TrendKite blog posts of 2015It’s that time of year where we all look back over how we did during the last 12 months. We thought it would be interesting to take a look at the most effective posts from this blog. Our goal isn’t just to toot our own horn, but to share some thoughts on what may have set each piece of content apart.

1) 5 Stupid PR Stunts that Failed

We think of “Top” as the highest converting, but views are important as well. This blog title contains two things that readers love, a list and a twist. It turns out that knowing what not to do is as important as knowing what to do. Don’t let these blunders happen to you.

2) [Part 3] How to Build a PR Report Your Company Will Actually Like: Top 5 Attributes of a Good PR Report

We think that people appreciated this post because it touches on a daily challenge that people really care about. No one likes creating reports just for the sake of it, but it happens all the time. We hope that our tips added value to the effort.

3) Trumpnado – How Donald Trump is Owning PR on the Campaign Trail

We really figured that the Trump-a-thon would be over by now, but onward it goes. Regardless of how you view his politics, Trump is fascinating to watch from a PR prospective. Say what you will, but the guy knows his audience and his brand.

4) What Does “Brand” Mean and Why Does it Matter

I think that this post struck a nerve because it gets to the very heart of what we do. “Brand” is something that is often taken for granted and not really talked about enough. The most powerful brands are also the most intentionally constructed and protected.

5) Why PR Organizations Should Embrace the Idea of Holacracy

We’re glad that this particular post intrigued our readers. The idea that the availability of relevant data makes it possible to remove the hierarchy and empower all members of a PR team to make decisions without layers of management approval is a powerful one indeed.

There you have our round up of top posts for this year. We’re looking forward to another year of useful and engaging content. What about you? Which were your top performing assets in 2015? We’d love to hear about what works for you and why.
