Bloomberg Businessweek has brought on Stacey Shick as part of its editing team. She spent the past nine years as an editor at Bloomberg Opinion and helped build the outlet from the ground up. Prior to that, Shick was an editorial producer at MLB.com and before that worked for The New York Times as a staff editor.
Catherine Leffert will join the Dallas Business Journal Oct.19 as a reporter covering finance and money; she replaces Rebecca Ayers who exited the paper to pursue other opportunities. Leffert was most recently an intern at Bloomberg News as part of the industrial and aerospace team.
Kaiser Health News has hired Rae Ellen Bichell as a Colorado correspondent based in Boulder, Colorado. She comes from KUNC public radio where she served as mountain west news bureau regional reporter for three years. Bichell has also reported as a freelancer for NPR, PRI's The World, OZY and Undark, among others.
Rebecca Hill has moved to the tech team at The Hill to cover tech policy. She was previously a breaking news reporter at the outlet and joined the staff in May 2019. Prior to that, Hill worked as city reporter for The York Dispatch and covered city government and redevelopment in York, Pennsylvania and a general assignment reporter for Blank Slate Media, covering local politics, education and crime in Nassau County.
NBC News has hired several new digital reporters under its new regional reporting initiative. The following journalists will join the network to cover portions of the South and Midwest:
- Deon J. Hampton starts Nov. 2 as a national reporter on the general assignment team, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is wrapping up his duties as an investigative reporter covering criminal justice and Covid-19 at the Cincinnati Enquirer. Before that, Hampton reported for Newsday, Bergen Record, and the Tulsa World.
- Bracey Harris comes in Oct. 24 as a national reporter on the enterprise team, based in Jackson, Mississippi. She comes from The Hechinger Report, a national nonprofit news organization focused on education, where she covered the pandemic’s impact on marginalized communities in the Deep South.
- Jaquetta White starts Oct. 19 as a news editor on the general assignment team based in Atlanta. She was previously with CNN Digital and worked as an editor covering breaking news, enterprise, opinion pieces and features, as well as the 5 Things morning newsletter.
- Elliott Ramos joined the staff Oct. 12 as a data reporter on the data graphics team based in Chicago. He comes from WBEZ public radio in Chicago, where he was the data editor since May 2019. He has also worked for The Wall Street Journal and the New York Daily News.
Amanda Habrowski has been promoted to content director at KBFF-FM radio in Portland, Oregon. She was most recently the assistant program director/music director at the station and will continue to host middays. Habrowski has been at KBFF since 2014.
