Media Moves at Bloomberg News & Barron’s, Business Insider Hires Executive Lifestyle Editor

Bloomberg News  has announced two editorial staff updates in the London bureau:

  • Alastair Marsh now covers green finance and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG). He previously covered corporate credit markets for Bloomberg and has been on staff since 2012. Before that, Marsh was a reporter for FT Title, the online emerging markets news service form the Financial Times.  
  • Akshat Rathi is set to join the news service in January as a reporter covering energy and climate change.  He comes from Quartz, where he has been a reporter for almost five years. Before that, he was a science and data editor for The Conversation.

Matt Peterson has been appointed ideas editor for Barron’s. He oversees commentary for Barron's, MarketWatch, and other publications under Barron's Group., and will also write a new newsletter starting in 2020. Peterson was most recently a senior editor for The Atlantic, where he created the magazine’s first digital subscription, The Masthead. Prior to that, he was chief of staff of Eurasia Group for three years.

Business Insider has hired Dana Schuster as an executive lifestyle features editor, effective Dec. 9. She was previously a senior features writer/editor at the New York Post and has also worked as the international editions editor of Harper’s Bazaar, O, The Oprah Magazine and Robb Report at Hearst Magazines Schuster has also written for The New York Times, Cosmopolitan international,  HuffPost, Marie Claire, The New York Press and Time Out New York magazine, among other publications.

Jeff Rossen has joined Hearst Television as the new chief national consumer correspondent, a newly created roles based in New York. He will also host “Rossen Reports” on Hearst TV's broadcast, digital and mobile platforms. Rossen as the former longtime NBC News investigative reporter and has also previously worked for WABC-TV in New York.

KGO-TV, the ABC station in San Francisco, has brought on Julian Glover as a reporter. He comes from WOIO-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, where he anchored the 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.am. newscast since 2017. Prior to that, Glover served as a reporter for WAVE 3 News in Louisville, Kentucky.
