Bloomberg News has announced a new hire and new coverage for one of its reporters:
- Maria Eloísa Capurro has joined the staff as a reporter covering the financial markets in New York. She comes from Uruguayan newspaper he Búsqueda, where she served as economics and finance reporter for almost eight years.
- Reporter Jillian F. Ward now covers bonds and currencies out of London, and writes about the world's most traded assets, including the US dollar, the euro, and government bonds across the developed world. She most recently covered the economy focusing on the Bank of England, trade, the U.K. and the Western European economies. She has been on staff at Bloomberg since 2014.
Phil Brown has been named managing editor, publisher and CEO of the Daily Journal of Commerce in Seattle; he succeeds Jon Silver. Brown has led the paper since the 1990s and most recently served as the publisher of the publication. He is the fourth generation of his family to run DJC, and previously was editor of the outlet from 1991 to 1995.
The Oregonian has named Jamie Goldberg as a full-time business reporter. She has been with the paper for seven years and mostly covered sports. Prior to that, Goldberg worked for Mission Local as an assistant editor/reporter.
Alex Orfinger has returned to the Washington Business Journal as publisher. He had led the publication as a publisher for 18 years, unit 2014 when he moved into a corporate position with parent company American City Business Journals. He will continue in his role as executive vice president of ACBJ, leading several of the company’s programs, including the Business Journal Leadership Trust.
Erika “Ali Gator” Hink has joined WOGG-FM radio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a morning host weekdays 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. She succeeds PD Scott Alexander who recently exited the station. Hink can also be heard on country sister station WOGI-FM in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
KKFS-FM in Sacramento, California, has tapped Amanda Carroll as morning host. She joined Matt Bisiaux for “The Fish Morning Show with Amanda & Matt." Carroll is a veteran radio host on Christian radio stations and most recently worked for iHeartMedia as a freelance talent.
J. Mike Cox has been named program director for WHCB-FM Christian radio in Bristol, Tennessee. Cox began volunteering for WHCB in 1997 while a student at King University. He became a paid employee in 1999 as a production assistant.
