Media Moves at CBS Television & Tallahassee Democrat, ELLE Announces Top Editorial Changes

Nicole Brown has joined CBS Television as a coordinating producer for “CBS This Morning.” She was most recently a news manager at amNewYork where she has written for the news, politics and Transit sections. She joined the staff in 2016 as an assistant news manager and has previously interned at MSNBC.

ELLE magazine has announced two top editorial moves, one departure and one addition, respectively.  

  • Longtime market director, Joann Pailey, has departed the publication for job as head of content and marketing at the fashion brand Altuzarra. Pailey has been with ELLE for more than 15 years and has been the market director since 2008.
  • Amy Synnott has joined the ELLE as executive editor. She comes from Harper’s Bazaar where she served as the executive editor since 2017. Prior to that, Synnott spent more than a decade handling all beauty content at InStyle.

Jim Rosica is the newly minted news director at the Tallahassee Democrat. He was most recently a senior editor at Florida Politics and had been on staff since 2015 when he joined as Tallahassee correspondent. Rosica has also covered Florida’s legislation and government for the Associated Press and the Tampa Tribune.

The Wall Street Journal has appointed Charity Scott online shopping reporter covering StitchFix, RealReal and Everlane as well as secondhand marketplaces like DePop and Poshmark, and efforts by social media services to capture shopping dollars. Scott is also a senior editor on the Journal’s social media team, and recently completed the first WSJ Trust Fellowship. She joined the paper in 2012 and has worked as an editor on WSJ.com and our mobile apps.

KQKQ-FM and KOPW-FM in Omaha, Nebraska have hired Jay Michaels as program director. He replaces Caleb James who departed the stations to join WLHK-FM in Indianapolis, Indiana. Michaels has previously programmed CBS Radio’s KJKK-FM and KVIL-FM, and iHeartMedia’s KDGE-FM, KDMX Dallas and KDHT Austin.
