Stuart Condie has joined The Wall Street Journal as markets reporter, based in the Sydney, Australia bureau. He focuses on tech, telecommunications and media, as well as the economy and financials. Condie was most recently the business editor for the Australian Associated Press and has led economy and equities coverage across all sectors for Australia's national newswire since 2018. He joined AAP in 2013 as news producer, and before that worked for Thomson Reuters in Australia.
The Denver Business Journal has promoted James Rodriguez to a reporter covering real estate. He focuses on the commercial development, construction, homebuilding and the residential market in the Denver metro area. Rodriguez joined the outlet in June 2018 as a data reporter and before that interned at the Austin Business Journal and was selected for the business reporting program through Dow Jones News Fund and American City Business Journals.
Will Kennedy is the new global executive editor of energy and commodities for Bloomberg News. He will continue being based in the London bureau, where he was most recently the managing editor of energy and commodities, EMEA and managed coverage in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Kennedy is a longtime Bloomberg LP staffer and joined in 2004 as energy markets reporter.
Parents magazine has brought on Miranda Van Gelder as executive editor. She comes from the Meredith Corp family and was most recently a special projects director for Family Circle. Prior to that, Van Gelder worked for Hearst for four years as the lifestyle director for Dr. Oz The Good Life. She has also previously worked for Scripps Interactive as a senior digital editor for the Food Network.
Erika Bradbury has joined PR News as editorial director and oversees both the magazine and the annual Social Shake-Up conference. She was previously a senior director of conference programs at the Interactive Advertising Bureau, where she oversaw program development and speaker recruitment.
CNBC has reassigned reporter Lauren Hirsch to the Politics team as a business and politics reporter, and now covers the regulatory world, explaining how rules, investigations and pronouncements from D.C. impact the country’s largest companies. She most recently covered retail and consumer news and has been with CNBC since 2017. Prior to that, Hirsch worked for Reuters.
Emmanuel Martinez has joined The Markup as an investigative data journalist. He previously spent six years as a data journalist at the Reveal and has previously worked at The Center of Investigative Reporting. The Markup is a nonprofit newsroom, covering technology, its usage within powerful institutions and the way that impacts society and people.
WLNG-FM radio in Sag Harbor, New York has announced the addition of Anthony Famiglietti as an evening host taking the 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. timeslot. He previously spent 13 years at WEHM-FM in Manorville, New York, most recently as a morning host and director for web and social media. Famiglietti has also served as marketing director for MDCH Media Agency since 2013 and previously worked for the NHL’s New York Islanders and in promotions for WCBS-FM New York.
Amanda Gomez is the new anchor at KVOA-TV, the NBC station in in Tucson, Arizona. She comes from KION TV in Salinas, California, where she spent the past five years as an anchor/reporter, and before that worked for The E.W. Scripps Company as a weekend anchor/reporter.
