Media Moves at CNN International & NBC News, the Financial Times Names U.S. Markets Editor

Kim Brunhuber has joined CNN International as an Atlanta-based anchor. He will anchor Europe morning editions of CNN Newsroom on Saturday and Sunday, as well as weekday news programs. Brunhuber comes from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation where he most recently served as the network’s senior correspondent and Los Angeles bureau chief.

NBC News Digital has tapped Michelle Garcia as editorial director for NBCBLK—NBC News’ African-American news vertical on NBCNews.com. She was most recently with Vice.com where she was a deputy editor managing the issues desk. Garcia has also been managing editor of Out magazine, senior editor for race and identities at Vox.com, identities editor at Mic.com, and managing editor of Advocate.com.

Kendra Pierre-Louis has joined Gimlet Media, a digital media company and podcast network focused on producing narrative podcasts, as a senior science reporter. She was most recently a reporter on the Climate Desk at The New York Times, a position she had held since November 2017. Prior to that, Pierre-Louis was a writer at Popular Science and focused primarily on writing features on environmental issues.  

The New York Times has welcomed Charlotte Greensit as managing editor and associate editorial page editor, effective July 6. She spent the past five years at the Intercept, most recently as managing editor and director of digital strategy. Greensit also previously spent more than a decade at TIME magazine.  

Eric Platt has been appointed U.S. markets editor at the Financial Times. He has worked for the FT in various roles since 2013, most recently as U.S. mergers and acquisitions correspondent. He is based in New York.  

The Real Deal has hired Orion Jones as data reporter; he covers New York City's commercial and residential real estate market. He was most recently a business journalist and graduate school student at Columbia University and the Recipient of the Gordon and Maggie Gray Fellowship for International Reporting.

iHeartMedia's WSIX-FM in Nashville, Tennessee,  has added Wayne ‘Big D’ Danielson as afternoon host. He was previously the program director of KWNR-FM in Las Vegas and had been with the station since 2016 when he joined as a PM host. Danielson has also previously served as APD/MD/afternoon host at sister station KPLV-FM.
