Miriam Elder has joined Vanity Fair's Hive vertical as executive editor. She spent the last seven years at BuzzFeed, most recently as world editor and politics reporter. Elder has also previously worked for The Guardian as a Moscow-based correspondent and later bureau chief. She has also written for the Financial Times, The Atlantic, The International Herald Times, and others.
CNN Underscored, CNN's digital e-commerce guide offering curated listings of online shopping deals and available products, has tapped Michael Andronico as senior writer. He comes from Tom's Guide where he served as editor in chief since January. He had been on staff since 2013 and before that founded FightYourRival.net, a personal gaming news blog with a focus on the fighting game community.
Krithika Varagur has joined The Wall Street Journal's Life & Arts Desk as "At Work" columnist covering the modern workplace. Varagur spent the past several years as a freelance foreign correspondent focusing on religion in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. She has reported from four continents for publications including The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The New York Review of Books, The Guardian, and The Financial Times.
Business Insider has welcomed Benjamin Snyder as managing editor focusing on growing the markets team. He was previously a senior editor at Storyful and has also held editorial positions at Bloomberg, LinkedIn, CNBC and Fortune. As a freelance writer, Snyder has written about business, news, the LGBT community and sports for numerous publications, including WeWork, Prose Media, D&I in Practice, Backchannel, Sports Illustrated, Time, The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, and other.
HousingWire magazine has hired two staffers:
- Tim Glaze is the new assignment reporter. He was previously a senior editor for digital content at Mountain View College and before that worked for D Magazine as a staff writer.
- Jordan White has joined the staff as assistant editor. She was previously a freelance blog editor at PatientPop Inc and before that worked as a ghostwriter at Adology.
Aaron Gilchrist is the new anchor and correspondent for NBC News Now, the streaming news channel of NBC News. He comes from WRC NBC4 in Washington, D.C., where he served as the morning news anchor for eight years. He joined NBC4 in 2010 as a weekend news anchor form WWBT NBC12 in Richmond, Virginia.
WPST-FM (94.5) radio in Trenton, New Jersey, has tapped Anne Gress as program director/music director. She succeeds Dave McKay, who exited the station after 24 years. Gress will continue to serve as the program director at WKXW-FM (101.5) talk radio. Prior to joining Townsquare Media in 2018, she spent 14 years at CBS Corporation as the brand manager WOGL-FM (98.1) in Philadelphia.
Nik Rivers has joined WEQX-FM (102.7) in Manchester, Vermont, as weekend host. He is a former program director at Entercom's WLKK-FM (107.7) in Buffalo, New York, and before that served as the PD at WZNE-FM (94.1) in Fairport, New York.
