Kavita Mokha has been promoted to deputy spot news editor for the Americas at Dow Jones/WSJ. She has relocated to the New York offices from the publishing desk in Barcelona, where she has served as the publishing editor since 2017. Prior to that, she was a research editor at Dow Jones and has also worked as public affairs manager at the Institute of International Education.
Education Drive has hired Jeremy Bauer-Wolf as a reporter covering the higher education industry. He comes from Inside Higher Ed where he was reporting on student life as a reporter. Prior to that, Bauer-Wolf was an education reporter at Frederick News-Post, the local newspaper of Frederick County, Maryland.
Shannan Siemens has departed CNBC, where she had served as senior producer for “Squawk on the Street” and “Squawk Alley” since 2015. She had been with CNBC since 2012 and joined the team after three years at Fox Business Network. She has also worked as a producer at College Sports Television. Siemens has been appointed managing director at public affairs firm Mercury.
Matt Volz has been promoted to news editor for the Associated Press and covers news for the Rockies Region out of the AP's Helena bureau in Montana. He joined the newswire in 2002 and has since been the supervisory correspondent at the bureau. Prior to that, Voltz was a reporter for the New Orleans City Business.
KSL-AM news radio in Salt Lake City, Utah, will welcome back Lee Lonsberry, a former producer of “The Doug Wright Show,” as a host of a new show that will focus on news, politics and current events. The show, titled “Lee Lonsberry” starts in December and will air from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Lonsberry has previously served as communications director of U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah.
Amanda McGraw has joined KHGE-FM and KOSO-FM country stations in California as program director. She comes from KBEB-FM in Sacramento, California where she served as an on-air talent and assistant program director. Prior to joining iHeartMedia, McGraw served as promotions director and morning co-host at KDUK-FM in Eugene, Oregon.
KLAK-FM radio in Tom Bean, Texas has debuted “The Sandy Show” airing in the mornings, and filling the opening created by Randi Taylor’s exit in June. The show is the creation of Sandy McIlree, who has been an on-air radio morning show personality for nearly three decades. He is best known as half of “The JB and Sandy Show,” which aired on KAMX in Austin, Texas for 17 years.
Jordan "JRDN" Foster has been promoted to night host at WKSC-FM in Chicago, upped from overnight/fill-in host. He succeeds Erik Zachary who exited the station in August. JRDN has been with the station since 2015 after previously working as a rapper.
