Benjamin Landy has been named executive editor, digital, for Fast Company, effective November 11. He comes from Vanity Fair, where he most recently served as deputy editor of The Hive, Vanity Fair’s multimedia platform for technology, media, politics, and business news. In addition to editing online features and news, he oversaw this year’s New Establishment list -- a staple of Vanity Fair for nearly 25 years -- and produced the weekly Hive podcast. Prior to that, Landy was the homepage and opinion editor for MSNBC online.
Forbes magazine has added one more editor to its ever-growing roster, and promoted another:
- Ezequiel "Zeke" Minaya is the new associate editor, CFO and covers corporate finance and the growing importance and role of chief financial officers. He was most recently a reporter at The Wall Street Journal and spent most of his career reporting out of Venezuela. Minaya has also previously reported for the Los Angeles Times, the Houston Chronicle, the Modesto Bee, and other publications.
- Luisa Kroll has been promoted to executive editor, a newly created role in which she will help lead in-depth news and feature coverage while also spearheading new editorial initiatives across Forbes platforms. Kroll is a 24-year Forbes veteran and most recently served as the assistant managing editor of Wealth.
Benjamin Katz has joined The Wall Street Journal as a London-based reporter covering aerospace and aviation. He works closely with The Journal’s Chicago and Los Angeles bureaus, and is responsible for corporate coverage of Airbus, as well as anything that flies over European airspace–including airliners, fighter jets and drones. Katz joined The Journal from Bloomberg, where he covered defense, aerospace, airlines, transport, and government since 2014.
Real Simple has named Rory Evans executive editor and will help strategize integrated and branded content. She was previously the executive editor of Family Circle, which will fold after the December 2019 issue. Evans has also freelanced for several publications, including Allure, Elle, Glamour, GQ, HGTV Magazine, InStyle, Marie Claire, New York, New York Times Magazine, and others.
Brendan Smyth has been promoted to publisher for Health. He was most recently the publisher of Family Circle and has been with Meredith Corp since 2016 and has also previously led the sales and marketing efforts of Rachael Ray Every Day. Prior to that, Smyth spent two years as the group associate publisher for Sunset Magazine and Coastal Living.
Erika Riley is the new business reporter for The Frederick News-Post in Maryland, covering regional business news. She was most recently an intern for LNP newspapers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as a features reporter and wrote stories for all sections of features including books, living, and food. Riley has also interned at StreetEasy, a New York website covering real estate.
