Maya Alena Allen has joined InStyle as beauty director. She comes from Marie Claire, where she spent the past two years as the beauty editor. Allen has also previously worked as the assistant beauty editor for Byrdie and a fashion and beauty editorial assistant for Cosmopolitan.
Axios has welcomed Aja Whitaker-Moore as managing editor. She oversees business coverage, including four of the Axios newsletters: Axios Capital, Pro Rata, Axios @ Work, and Axios Markets. She also contributes to a long-term project covering systemic racism in America. Whitaker-Moore was previously the global editor in chief for Debtwire's Fixed Income division.
Bloomberg News has hired three new reporters, who all previously served as interns at the wire:
- Carolina Gonzalez has joined the news service as a reporter after spending the summer interning with the metals and mining team. She has previously also interbed at Better Government Association and served as a breaking news fellow at CNBC.
- Julia Fanzeres has joined Bloomberg as a personal finance reporter. She was previously a Markets Live intent at the news service and has also held internships at CNN and the U.S. House of Representatives.
- Michael Tobin has joined Bloomberg as a reporter covering FX and rates. He spent the summer as an intern covering venture capital and startups. His work has also been published in The Wall Street Journal, The Portland Business Journal, Eugene Weekly and The Portland Tribune.
CNBC has tapped Carmen Reinicke as a reporter on the personal finance team. She spent the past year at Business Insider and covered the U.S. economy and markets. Reinicke has previously worked at Bloomberg and CNBC.
Anna Kramer has joined Protocol as a tech reporter and newsletter producer. She was previously a business and tech reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, and most recently covered the coronavirus pandemic’s effects on workers, small business, and tech, as well as coronavirus-related health stories on masks, hospital strikes and virus outbreaks. Prior to that, Kramer served as the managing editor of The Brown Daily Herald and interned at Bloomberg Law.
WFLD-TV, the Fox station in Chicago, has welcomed Nate Rodgers as general assignment reporter. He previously worked as a reporter for WICD-TV in Champaign, Illinois, and has also reported for WNCN-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina, and WWOR-TV in New York. In the beginning of his career he spent several years as an assignment editor and producer at WBBM-TV in Chicago.
