Media Moves at Kaiser Health News & Vice News, DealBook Hires a Reporter

Katheryn Houghton has joined Kasier Health News as Montana Correspondent, working out of Missoula, Montana. She previously reported for the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, the Daily Inter Lake and the Chinook Observer.

DealBook, The New York Times's newsletter and blog offering news about Wall Street and corporate America, has hired Lauren Hirsch as a reporter. She comes from CNBC.com, where she most recently served as business and politics reporter. Prior to that, she was a team lead at Reuters.

Arielle Duhaime-Ross will return to Vice News as an on-air correspondent and host of the new podcast "Vice News Reports" in partnership with iHeartRadio, which is set to debut this fall. She was most recently at vox.com, where she hosted the technology and science podcast "Reset." Prior to that, she was the first climate change correspondent in US nightly news, for Vice News Tonight.  

VICE has also hired Mat Skene as executive producer for "The Source," a new premium documentary series from Vice World News. He most recently worked as an executive producer of The New York Times’s television series The Weekly on FX and Hulu.

Jake Grovum is the new deputy off-platform editor at The New York Times, upped from social strategy editor. He has been with the paper for a year and before that worked for the Financial Times as a social media journalist.

Joseph Pimentel has joined  Spectrum News 1 SoCal as a digital reporter covering business, real estate, human interest and general assignment news in Los Angeles and Orange County, California. He was most recently a senior business reporter for Bisnow, and prior to that reported for the Orange County Register for five years.

WZNE-TV in Rochester, New York, has tapped Cory “Kobe” Fargo to host afternoons, and replaces the “Gentleman’s Club,” hosted by Mark Maira and Shane Allen. Fargo was most recently PD/afternoon host at iHeartMedia CHR WWHT in Syracuse, New York, exiting as part of company-wide cuts in January.

Kelsey Sauers has joined KEWB-FM in in Anderson, California, as assistant program director and afternoon host, effective Aug. 17. She comes to KEWB from Alpha Media Mankato, where she spent the past year as the host of "The Morning Mix."
