Media Moves at NPR, Bloomberg QuickTake & Politico, CNN Hires Israel Correspondent

Politico has named Joanne Kenen editor at large of healthcare coverage. She was most recently the executive editor, healthcare at PoliticoPro for almost three years and before that served as editor and deputy healthcare editor at the outlet. Kenen has been at Politico since 2011 and before that covered healthcare policy for CQ Roll Call. Before that, she worked at Reuters for 23 years.

Rebecca Robbins has joined the Business Desk at The New York Times to cover COVID-19 and pharmaceuticals. She comes from Stat News, where she spent five years covering healthcare and pharma, and co-hosted a weekly podcast on the biotech industry. Before joining Stat in 2015, she had internships at The Washington Post, The Hartford Courant and The Santa Barbara Independent

John Herzfeld  retired Dec. 1 after more than 36 years as New York correspondent for the Bureau of National Affairs Inc. (BNA), now known as Bloomberg Industry Group (INDG). Throughout the years he has covered law and policy for Bloomberg Tax, Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Law: Environment, and Bloomberg Government.

Bloomberg's newly launched streaming channel QuickTake has announced the addition of  an anchor and a chief correspondent:

  • Tim Stenovec has joined the staff as an anchor. He was most recently an anchor at Cheddar and before that served as the technology editor at Business Insider, and tech reporter at HuffPost.
  • Jason Kelly has been named chief correspondent. He was most recently the New York bureau chief of Bloomberg News and has covered private equity, global finance and technology.

CNN has named Hudas Gold its new Israel correspondent. She will relocate to the Israel bureau from CNN Business in London, where she had been since 2017. Prior to that, Gold worked for Politico as media reporter, and her work has appeared on CNN Politics, CNNMoney, and CNN. In 2017 she was named one of the most influential media reporters by Mediaite.

Yolanda Sangweni is the new senior director of programming at NPR:National Public Radio in New York. She spent the past 16 months at Luminary where she was responsible for enhancing podcast discovery through a variety of methods as the director of programming and editorial. Prior to Luminary, Sangweni spent nine years at Essence where she was digital content director and an entertainment editor, as well as co-creator and co-host of the magazine’s Yes Girl podcast targeting women of color.

WTTG-TV, the Fox station in Washington, D.C., has promoted Angie Goff to main evening anchor. She replaces Shawn Yancy, who left in September. Goff will anchor the station's 10 p.m. show as well as the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m newscasts. She has been at WTTG-TV since 2019, and previously worked at WRC, D.C.’s NBC station, as the weekend morning anchor.

Marie Saavedra has joined CBS-owned WBBM-TV in Chicago as a reporter. She spent the last seven years at WFAA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Dallas, as a reporter, and before that worked at KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, and KYTV-TV in Springfield, Missouri.
