Vox co-founder and editor at large Ezra Klein has announced his departure from the outlet to join The New York Times Opinion. He will make the transition in January 2021 to become a columnist and podcast host. He will write a reported column on policy and the policymaking process and will host an interview podcast. Klein, who founded Vox with Melissa Bell and Matthew Yglesias in 2014, is also the author “Why We’re Polarized” and, in 2018, launched the Netflix series “Explained,” covering topics from the racial wealth gap in the U.S. to the rise of cryptocurrency.
The New York Times has also welcomed Jaclyn Reiss as an assistant editor. She comes from the Boston Globe where she most recently was co-managing the newsroom’s home page, working on alerts and helping spearhead breaking news coverage. Before that she was a community and metro reporter at The Globe.
Glynn A. Hill is the new breaking news and general assignment reporter on the Sports Desk at The Washington Post. She was most recently a reporter at the Houston Chronicle, where she spent five years reporting on multiple desks.
Wine Spectator has announced new editorial leadership. The transition will take place at the end of 2020:
- Thomas Matthews will step down from his longtime role as executive editor of Wine Spectator. He joined the magazine in 1988, working in the London and then the New York offices. In 1999, he was promoted to executive editor, overseeing print and digital operations as well as events and special projects.
- Jeffery Lindenmuth has been named executive editor. He is currently the executive editor of sibling publication Whisky Advocate and has been with M. Shanken Communications since 2000 when he joined as a contributing editor covering wine and spirits at Food Arts magazine. In 2016, he was named executive editor of Whisky Advocate.
Chelsea Stuart has joined BuzzFeed as market editor. She was most recent the senior lifestyle commerce editor at DotDash and oversaw the editorial schedule, top-editing posts, and coordinated promotions. Prior to that, Stuart worked at Jetsetter as an editorial assistant and staff writer for two years.
The Atlantic has welcomed Jenisha Watts as senior editor for special projects. She was most recently the culture editor of ESPN's The Undefeated and served as a features and commentary editor for espnW, and edited pieces for ESPN The Magazine.
