Daniela Galarza is the newest staff writer at The Washington Post Features desk, covering food. Galarza, also a trained pastry chef, comes to the Post from Serious Eats, where she served as features editor, and previously served as senior editor for Eater.
Also at the Post, Christy E. Lopez is a new contributing columnist for the Opinions section, covering policing, criminal justice, police brutality and reform. Lopez hails from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where she is a Professor from Practice, teaching courses on criminal procedure and policing.
Dan Peres is the new editor in chief for Ad Age. Peres was previously the longtime editor in chief of Details, and has also served as editor in chief and chief content officer for Gawker. His memoir, "As Needed for Pain: A Memoir of Addiction," was released in February.
Eliza Haverstock is now an assistant editor at Forbes, overseeing money and markets. Haverstock was most recently a staff reporter for PitchBook Data, covering private equity, venture capital and M&A.
Jon Silver is now the managing editor of the Puget Sound Business Journal, replacing Rob Johnson. Silver comes from the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce, where he also served as managing editor, and prior to this, a reporter and editor. He previously worked for The Omaha Reader.
Karen West is promoted to music director at country station WGH-FM (Norfolk, Virginia). A two-decade veteran broadcaster, West was most recently a midday personality at the station prior to this promotion.
Rob Grayson is the new program director at country station WKBQ-FM (Memphis, Tennessee), taking over for Jimmy Hicks. Grayson will also feature as an afternoon personality, moving Chris Jay to afternoons.
